I found my stay at Village Hotel Cardiff to be a mixed experience. The location is ideal for accessing both Cardiff and nearby attractions, and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, I encountered several issues with the room and amenities that affected my comfort, which kept this from being a seamless stay. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but there are certainly areas that need improvement. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rooms
5.0
The room had some strengths like cleanliness and decent decor, but there were notable drawbacks. Missing essentials like a full-length mirror and proper toiletries were frustrating. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut properly, and maintenance couldn’t resolve it. The issue with the water from the taps was particularly annoying, as it resulted in a mini flood. Overall, my room was not quite what I expected given the brand reputation.
Service
5.0
The service from staff members varied greatly. While some were polite and efficient, others seemed disinterested, especially during breakfast. I encountered delays getting simple requests fulfilled, which was disappointing. Thankfully, there were a few standout team members whose friendly attitudes made a difference.
Location
7.0
I appreciated the hotel's convenient location, making it easy to explore Cardiff and its surroundings. It's close enough to the city center, yet still offers a quieter environment for restful nights. Parking was available, which added to the convenience despite the recent parking fee being a minor shock.
Dining
5.0
Dining at the hotel was a bit of a letdown. The breakfast options were limited, and I found some items, like the scrambled eggs, to be less than appealing. The atmosphere was nice, but the overall quality of the food and the service during meals could use significant improvement. I ended up opting for meals outside the hotel.
Facilities
5.0
Although I didn’t use the gym or pool, I noticed that these amenities are heavily promoted. Unfortunately, the pool was closed for refurbishment during my stay, which I had hoped to enjoy. There were additional inconveniences, like the malfunctioning lift, which contributed to my overall dissatisfaction with the available facilities.

My stay at Village Hotel Cardiff had its ups and downs. While I appreciated the friendly service and nice toiletries, the cleanliness left much to be desired, and I faced some inconveniences during my visit. Overall, it could benefit from better maintenance and attention to details.

Rooms
5.0
The room had nice toiletries, but unfortunately, it was not as clean as I expected. There was a thick layer of dust on surfaces, and the tap in the bathroom leaked, soaking the floor. I found the lack of extra pillows uncomfortable, especially with health conditions that make reclining difficult.
Service
7.0
Every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. Despite the issues I faced, they were kind and attentive, which made the experience a bit better.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location is convenient, allowing quick access to the city center within 20 minutes. However, if you're out late, be mindful of the train schedule as the last one back is at 10:30.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast options were limited, and I had a disappointing experience with cold and mediocre food. Additionally, the cleanliness of the dining area left something to be desired.
Facilities
5.0
While I was eager to use the pool and spa facilities, the jacuzzi was out of order during my stay, which was a letdown. I also noticed cleanliness issues in the pool area that need to be addressed.

My stay at Village Hotel Cardiff had its ups and downs. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, making the experience more pleasant. However, the cleanliness of my initial standard room was disappointing, and I found some elements of the dining experience lacking. Overall, it wasn't quite the luxury I had anticipated.

Rooms
6.0
I started in a standard room that needed a deep clean, but later upgraded to a club room that was lovely. The difference was noticeable but the first impression was unfortunate.
Service
5.0
While most staff were friendly, I encountered a disappointing interaction with one employee regarding a food delivery issue. Additionally, the dining service felt chaotic during breakfast hours.
Location
6.0
The hotel is well-placed, but navigating around was a bit tight, especially with the construction scaffolding around.
Dining
5.0
I found the dining experience to be underwhelming. The breakfast had limited options, and the quality was inconsistent at best, especially during peak hours.
Facilities
6.0
The gym and pool were nice, but they were crowded during my visit due to outside members. I liked the facilities but found them less accessible during busy times.

My stay at Village Hotel Cardiff was enjoyable, but there were a few hiccups along the way. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I especially loved the relaxing spa experience. However, the noise from events and the restaurant service left room for improvement.

Rooms
6.0
The room was modern and clean, but I encountered issues with the bathroom water flow and a malfunctioning door lock. The lack of a long mirror was also inconvenient.
Service
6.0
While most staff were friendly and prompt, I did experience some frustration with the restaurant service, where staff seemed unsure during busy times.
Location
7.0
The hotel is conveniently located just off the M4, but it does feel a bit removed from central Cardiff, especially if you're looking to explore the city more.
Dining
6.0
Although the breakfast selection was decent, I found the quality lacking, especially on busy mornings. The atmosphere in the restaurant could also use some improvement.

I had a mixed experience at Village Hotel Cardiff. The location was convenient and the bar area was comfortable, but I encountered several cleanliness issues and inconsistent service. While I appreciated the friendly staff, the noise levels and maintenance problems were shortcomings that impacted my stay.

Rooms
6.0
The room was decent in size with a comfortable bed, but it lacked basic cleanliness, such as stained pillows and dirty towels. Additionally, there were issues with noise and maintenance, like the shower flooding and the bathroom door lock not working.
Service
5.0
The staff were generally friendly and accommodating, especially at check-in and in the bar area. However, service at breakfast was lacking, as I had difficulty obtaining decaf coffee and there were miscommunications about my food requests.
Location
7.0
The hotel is well-located, making it easy to explore nearby dining options. I found it convenient for accessing restaurants and attractions in the area, which was a definite plus.
Dining
5.0
The dining options at the hotel seemed overpriced for the quality, and the breakfast was hit or miss. The atmosphere was pleasant, but I preferred to eat outside the hotel after seeing the menu prices.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities included a comfortable bar area, a pool, and decent common spaces. However, the lack of attention to overall cleanliness and maintenance left room for improvement.
